q u e s t i o n s & a n s w e r s

recently i put out a plea on instagram (@thebrightsideblog) for questions that y'all had for an upcoming q&a. i received some really great thought provoking questions, and so today, while sitting on my bed blasting twenty one pilots in my earbuds, i'm here to answer them....

"what's your favorite book or quote?" - camryn // ooh, hard choice! there's two aspects to this question. the bible is by far my all time favorite book, but my favorite secular book is actually a series. my choice definitely has to be either Harry Potter or The Maze Runner Trilogy. and my favorite quote is "I would rather be what God chose to make me than the most glorious creature that I could think of; for to have been thought about, born in God's thought, and then made by God, is the dearest, grandest, and most precious thing in all time." - unknown.

"fav song?" - nathan // well, i'm a bit of a music junkie so i'm gonna split this up into my top 3 favorite songs from my top 3 favorite genres... also because i'm super indecisive. Christian - for those who can't speak by tenth avenue north. (but i seriously love any song by TAN). Pop - migraine by twenty one pilots. Country - i love this life by LOCASH.

"what bible verse or story has made the most impact on your life?" - lexi // i actually have a verse and a story. the story would be that of Christ's death for my sin, and glorious resurrection. a true moment that has most definitely changed my life. and the verse is 1 Corinthians 10:13 "No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he'll never let you be pushed past your limit; he'll always be there to help you come through it." it's a wonderful reminder that no matter what, God will always help me through whatever i face.

"how has God changed you in the past year?" - nathan // God has changed me in a lot of ways if i'm being honest. he's taught me a lot, like how to encourage others, how to be confident in who i am, and most importantly, i'm being taught how to make my faith my own. how to become a true follower of Jesus, and not just a fan.

"what was your favorite show or book when you were little?" - camryn // my favorite book when i first started reading chapter books was The Bobbsey Twins and the Flying Clown. hands down my all-time favorite book from my childhood. though i used to really enjoy the Skippy John Jones books too. and my early child-hood favorite show was probably Dora, but as i got older, The Andy Griffith Show quickly took it's place.

"what would you like to see happen in the next year?" - lexi // well, i have a lot of totally unrealistic goals... world peace, finding a cure for cancer, become a professional singer, stuff like that so i'll narrow it down to some more practical goals (haha). goal #1 - i would love to see more unity in my life. with my friends, the youth group i attend, my church as a whole, really just the community i live in. goal #2 - i would love to become confident enough to sing in front of people. not exactly sure where i want this to go, but we'll see. goal #3 - i wanna get my permit! i turn 16 this year, so i'll finally be old enough! goal #4 - i want to start a band. not really sure what type of band, but i like reallyyy want to start one. and soon.

"what should people who want to blog do to help themselves when starting their blog?" - nate // i suggest narrowing down exactly where you want to go with your blog, exactly who you want to reach, and what you want to write about (general idea). after you figure this out - get connected in the blogging world. maybe guest post on a few blogs (if any of you are starting a blog and want to guest post, contact me and let me know! maybe we can work something out.), get an instagram for your blog, comment on other people's blogs. hope this helps!
